At ELA Active, we take pride in delivering outstanding, safe, and joyful experiences for children and families. We offer a friendly and inclusive working culture, regular training opportunities, and a chance to make a lasting impact during school holidays. Safeguarding is central to everything we do – and we are looking for staff who share that commitment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Build positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures and report concerns as required.
  • Supervise children throughout the day, including registration, transitions, and handover to parents.
  • Administer basic first aid and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Support the planning and setup of activities and ensure all areas are clean, safe, and well maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to create a supportive, high-energy team environment.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with children in play, childcare, youth work, or school settings.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with a passion for child development.
  • A strong awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Confidence leading a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, sports, and group games.
  • Comfortable in a swimming pool environment and willing to get into the water to support and engage with children through play.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible, reliable approach to working during school holiday periods.
  • Willingness to complete all required training and ongoing CPD.
  • An Enhanced DBS clearance (this will be arranged as part of pre-employment checks).

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Playwork, Childcare, or Youth Work
  • First Aid qualification
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.

What we offer:

  • Comprehensive training including safeguarding and child protection.
  • Flexibility of shifts throughout holiday periods
  • Supportive team environment with on-the-job mentoring
  • Free use of sports centre facilities during employment
  • Opportunity to gain valuable experience in childcare and activity delivery.
  • A fun, rewarding job that makes a real difference during school holidays.
