We want as many people as possible to be able to use our websites and access our services. For example, that means you should be able to:

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to non-accessible pdf files and other media which may not be readable or viewable with screen reader software.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
When we publish new content we’ll make sure our use documents and images meets accessibility standards.
We’ve assessed the cost of transcribing our scanned pdf into an accessible format and believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. When these documents are updated we will ensure they meet accessibility standards.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services, and forms published as Word documents. We plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages when they are next updated.
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix our scanned deed of variation documents from 2016, however, new PDFs and Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We are trying to reduce our reliance on pdf files for polices and other documents where it is not needed for layout or other compliance purposes – we know that pdf and other documents are hard to read on smaller screens and by screen reader software and will remove them as far as it possible.
We will also add new features to our website, such as options to enable high contrast mode and other accessibility features to make our websites more accessible.

This website was last tested on 16th March 2021. The test was carried out by WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool.
We used this approach results of these tests to ensure all images have descriptions and the contrast of elements elements on the page is legible.
