Witchford Village College is an expanding village college for Years 7 to 11 located two miles west of the historic city of Ely and we are part of the Eastern Learning Alliance.

We require an enthusiastic and highly motivated Computer Science teacher to join a successful and dynamic team. As a school, we are innovative in realising the potential of all our students and we offer an excellent, supportive environment in which to work. There is an extensive CPD programme for all staff and the Computing department is highly collaborative across the ELA, which leads to the production of excellent resources for students. Students enjoy their lessons, and the subject contributes to a Good, vibrant school with above average outcomes for students.

All students at WVC study Computing in Years 7 to 9 and the curriculum encompasses 3 complementary disciplines: Computer science, Digital literacy and Information technology.

Computational thinking is a central concept in our curriculum and embedded throughout discreetly.

Students can continue their study in Key Stage 4 be choosing OCR GCSE Computer Science as one of their option choices. Computer Science GCSE is a popular choice where students are keen to develop their programming and subject knowledge.

There is a wide-ranging extra-curricular and super curricular offer at Witchford with time given to staff to run activities that are within their specialism or broader interests.

Students at WVC are each provided with their own iPad to learn in an engaging way.
